Hello 2010. Goodbye 2009.
2009 was just an OK year. I got a new job...that is awesome. I hardly see a lot of people that I want to see more, and that makes me sad. Not that I don't enjoy seeing the people that I do see a lot, I just want to spend time with more of my friends.
That should be a "resolution" for 2010. Spend more time with more friends. :)
I also just got a new car... my 2010 Toyota Camry... and I love her. :) I need to think of a name... hmmm. I'll get back to you on that one...hopefully by Dec. 2012 when she's due to be turned in. lol.
In movie news... I finally saw Nine this past week with Katie & Megan. I enjoyed it more after it all came together at the end. I think I would like to see it again, now that I really know the meaning of most of it, and maybe I will fall more in love with it. I thought the acting was very nice, not that the roles were terribly difficult or anything. I liked most of the music, although Megan didn't because it was too "foreign", which really doesn't make sense. The movie took place in Italy, but everything was in English, except the word Italiano. Eh. Once I realized the movie was about this director's struggles with making a GREAT movie, rather than another flop (his word...not mine), and how all these women in his life could play a leading role. The songs portray his view of their role in the movie, their shot in the spotlight, their 3mins of fame. All these people have affected him throughout his life, and have made him to be what he is. They really should've given more clues to that in the beginning of the film, in order to keep people connected, rather than confused and pondering. Also, casting SO many award-winning actresses to play the roles of the women in his life, might have been a poor choice. They are all great, and standing along they are magnificent, but they all have such little roles in the movie, it's hard to see SO many supporting actresses. I don't think it meshed as well as it should've.
All that being said, I did enjoy watching the movie, and I enjoyed it much more once I saw the end and discovered what all the little parts built up to be. I do think it is a noteworthy movie, and would suggest it to others, but I'd go into it with a little "presearch" so confusion doesn't over-shine the movie.
That's all for now... more later. |
